MomsForLife has been around since April of 2001 and has grown and evolved quite a bit in that time. Back then, MomsForLife was a marketing team for a particular wellness company and we grew pretty big and many of us reached the goals we set for ourselves and our businesses, myself included.

As the founder, I found myself naturally drawn to two aspects of my business with that company: building and maintaining the website for the team (and all the Internet-based tools and resources we created over the years) and the coaching/mentoring/training of new business partners.

Having a web design business already, it was a natural extension of who I was and what I did to create a web presence for us. The part that intrigued me, though, was the coaching, mentoring and training I did on a daily basis. That was the “make or break” point for most of the people who joined us. Those who took personal growth and development seriously did well, those who didn’t…well, didn’t.

So, in November of 2006, I started a formal personal coaching practice, following the idea that if you do what you love, the money follows.

I’ve found that’s true, but I’ve found some even greater truths along the way. One is that you can’t have everything, and if you could, you wouldn’t want it all, anyway. Another is that you can really only help those who are willing to help themselves. Yet another is that just because something makes sense, not everyone will “get” it.

These and many other realizations led me to formally disband the old MomsForLife that was tied to that particular wellness company, and reorganize MomsForLife to create a new organization with a broader reach. This new MomsForLife can help you create a healthier home, yes, but can also help you build a successful business of any kind, bring your business online, and create balance in your life, no matter how many hats you wear. That multiple hat thing is something I know about…intimately.

So stick around…there’ll be all kinds of growth happening around here. I’ll be sharing lots of lessons learned in the hopes that you won’t have to get the same knots on your forehead I’ve had over the years. Like Helen Keller said, “Life is a daring adventure or nothing at all.” I say any adventure is always more fun with good company.
